He recounted what had taken place in regard to petitions. Council had promised if a good petition were put in the question of merging would be favonrabty considered. r Such small local bodies did not justify their, existence. The scdall amount raised in Halcombe and the big amount spent in administration- was not sound government. After considerable discussion the motion was carried unanimously.
