The Hamburg-Amerika line are extending their Eastern service from Japanese ports to San Francisco and Vancouver. Received November 4, 9^a.m. Loudon, November 3. Tristram Delapoes Beresford, exnaval officer, has been sentenced to xis months’ imprisonmeutfor wounding a fellow lodger at Paignton in a boardinghouse quarrel. The Crown has entered a nolle prosequi against the men arrested tov the July disturbances in Belfast, but they were re-arrested on a Magistrate’s warrant. The Crown Solicitor demanded that ,the case should be heard by a Magistrate instead of eight justices, declaring that the- Bench was packed. . The. police acting on the Crown’s instructions refused to produce the prisoners, and the hearing was adjourned.
