NEW TIME-TABLE.

SECOND MAIN TRUNK EXPRESS TIME-TABLE. As previously notified the new summer time-table of / the Government railway came into operation yesterday. Incidental to this is - the running of a second express oyer the Main Trunk line between Wellington and Auckland. This train is to leave Wellington at 9.10 p.m., Palmerston North, 12.47 a.m. V Marton, 2.H a.ui ; Taihape, 4.9 a.m. ; 'Ohakune, 6.20 a.m. ; arriving in Auckland at 4,12 p. m. The Napier train, which is to connect with this express at Palmerston North is acfiiednled to leave at 3 p.m. The extra, express iwill leave Wellington every day except Saturdays. The second express will leave Auckland at 11.55 a.m. ; Ohakune at 10.25 p.m. ; Wajpuru at 11.33 p.m. ; Taihape at 12.28 pm.; Marton, 2.10 a.m.; Palmerston, 8.16 a.m.; arriving at Wellington at 6.50 a. net. \This train will arrive in Wellington on every day of the week, Mondays decepted. • The extra express on the Main Trunk line will mean a considerable diminution ini the time occupied by the journey from Wellington to Rotorua. Under the one express per day arrangement Wellington was placed at a considerable disadvantage iu respect to this service on account of the long wait which had to .be «nade either at Taumarunui or Franbton, the complete journey occupying 30 hours. With the second express leaving at 9,10 p.m., through passengers to Rotorua will only experience a wait of an hour and a half at Frankton, and will be able ter do the trip iu||3o hours 4 ominutes, - sc saving in time of nearly ten hours. Similarly ;the journey be* tayeen Rotorua "and Wellington will he reduced from 30 hours 43 minutes ■to, 2 hours 120 minutes, a saving of 9~liours 33 minutes. Leaving Wellington at 9,10 p.m. travellers will ■reach Rotorua at 5.50 p.m. the next day, jrand leaving Rotorua at 9.30 »em. passengers will arrivQ"at |Wellington at 6.50 am., the next day.
