Per Press Association. Timaru, October 31. At Timaru last night Hagerty (Timaru) and Maxwell (Hawera) fought 15 rouuds for a £SO purse. Hagerty won easily on points. Maxwell was severely punished. Maxwell fought pluckily and took a lot of punishment. He was nearly blinded before, the close of the light. The ■ onlookers thought Hagerty could have finished the fight halfway ’through.' In the preliminary amateur .-match between McGrath (Timaru) and North (Dunedin) for six threeminute rounds, McGrath got the verdict, but this was the occasion of some dissent. (
