The .newspapers publish confessions in which the plotters declare that they .were foiled in every step owing to the presence of police. A rati states Chat fhe was 1 waiting at the station to shoot Lord Kitchener, but the strict supervision suggested that hia intentions were known and thwarted. Its was impossible to approach Lord Kitchener when ho entered the car so Arabi ran and stood at the enter gate. The oar passed so quickly and the aide-de-camp, Fitzgerald, locked at him so latently that he felt as- if 14 paralysed him.
