All the churches are down, including the Free Ohurch, which cost £BOOO Traders ’stores all suffered severely and practically every boat in port was wrecked A tidal wave drove into the famous ialaud town of Lefnka, and did widespread damage The natives are faced with partial starvation. The Navna on return- voyage ia taking large supplies of food. It is est mated that the trade of Haapai group will fee set back 10 years
