At Chicago four murderers, guilty of murder of a foreigner named Quelzows, were hanged together In the State gaol. On the previous night they gave way to hysterical outbursts and fought the warder* fiercely, but were overpowered by ma‘n force. The wife of one of the condemned men fainted. The whole Polish community endeavoured to secure the pardon of two of the condeKicod men, but failed. The men were carried in a semi-conscious condition to the scaffold.
