Mixed yearlings 375, store cows £3, 2}£ year steers £4 12s 6d, springing cows, backward £4, fat cows £4 7s 6d, 3% year steers £ *lioan & Mercantile 00. report as follows:—At Apiti on Monday we held most successful clearing sale on account of Mr Hugh Osborne. The quality of the stock, especially the cattle, was particularly good and every pen offered found a ready market, at advanced rates. We quote:— 2 tooth ewes 13s 2d, 2 tooth wethers small 10a 2d, mixed aged ewes 10s lOd to 11s 2d, cull 2 tooth ewes 10a, call 2 tooth, wethers 7s 6d, wether lambs 6s, ewe lambs Bs, rams to 30s. Cattle, 18 month hefers in calf £2 IGs, 18 month heifers in calf to Jersey bull £4, 2 year heifers in calf £3 10s 3 year ditto £4 2s 6d, empty heifers £3 15s to £3 Bs, fat heifers £4 Is. £4 6s to £4 10s 6d, empty cows £3 10s, 18 month tsaers £3 10s, 2 year steers £3 6s to £3 da, yearling steers 335. cows with calves at foot £4 15s, bollocks £4 10a to £4 17s gd. Horses unbroken £3 5a to £5 15s Account other vendors, 2 tooth ewes small 17s 6d, Romney 2 tootq ewes 14s lOd, Lincoln ditto 14a lOd, 15 months steers small £2 4s to £2 10s heifers in calf £2 16s 6d. At Rangiwabia on Tuesday we had a heavy yarding of sheep and' a small entry of cattle. Sheep, owing no doubt to the continued dry weather, suffered a decline and although we were sncooeasfnl in placing almost the whoie of our entry, vendors had to reduce their reserves to permit f business being done. We qnote : -Gull lambs £2 3s, £2 7s to £3 3s, mixed lambs ss, 5a 4d to 6s, cull ewes 3s Id to 5s 3d, aged ewes 6s, mixed aged eweS 8a Bd, f . ni. ewes to 10s, 2 tooth ewes 11s Id to 13a 2d, 2 tooth wethers 10s sd, We disposed of 80 rams at prices np to 2 guineas. At Kimbotlou on Wednesday we had a fair yarding of stock consisting mostly of wether lambs Bidding at auction was dull, but we managed to dispose of most of the entry at following prices :—Gall lambs 2s 3d, small mixed lambs 4s, wether lambs £6 10s to £7 10a, 2 tooth wethers 9s 9, rams 1 % to 2gns, springing cows £3 10s. Messrs Abraham & Williams. Ltd., report on their sale at Palmerston North yesterdayWe had a large yarding of sheep and a medium one of cattle. The entry of sheep consisted mainly of aged ewes and call lambs which were dull of sale, but any lines of young (ewes and good lambs met with a ready sale. We quote -Sheep, lambs small Is Id to 8s 2d, 2 tooth owes £3ls, 2,4 and 6 tooth ewes 12s 2d, 4 and 5 year ewes 9s to 12s, 3 tooth wethers small 7s Id to 7s 6d, Southdown rams 12s 6d, Romney rams 15s to 16s. Oatfele, 18 month steers £3 Ba, fat cows £4 6s to £4 15s, forward cows £3, bulla 80s to £2, weaners 22s to 255. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report having o ondnoted most successful sale at Te Rangituman yesterday on behalf of Mr A. J. Stone-Wigg. The arrangements generally were highly satisfactory and met with the approval of the public, everything working without the slightest hitch. The attendance which was large included many buyers from a distance and business at auction was animated. All the stock was in first-class condition and while no sensational prices can be recorded for the cattle the prices on|the whole were satisfactory to the vendor. Cows, several of which were dry, averaged £6 13s 6d, two year olds £6, and yearling heifers £4 10s. Sheep were keenly competed for, two tooth ewes making 14sJ|6d to 16s 6d, 4 tooth 16s, 6 tooth 15a 6d. Ornid station, 6 tooth ewes 13s 6d. Te Hoe, 4 year old ewes 12s 2d. Tablelands, 4 year old ewes IBs, small ewe lambs 6s 9d. Rams.—2 tooth Southdown 2% to s%gus, 4 tooth Southdown to 4>£gna; 6 tooth Southdown 8 to 4gns; 4 year old Southdown 3% to 4gns; 4 year old Lincoln % |to 2gns; aged Lincolns 1 to l^gns; 5 year old 1 to IJ^gns; 5 year old Romneys 1 to l^gns. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report probably the largest number of sheep ever yarded at Taihape were offered to the public on Wednesday. The entry comprised a number of good sheep and the competition for wethers and good lambs was keen. All sound ewes met with fair enquiry and prioes for these and older ewes were quite equal to those ruling at other markets. Sheep, good 2 tooth wethers 11s 6d, 2 and 4 tooth wethers 11s 3d to 12s 4d, 2 tooth ewes 13a 3d f.m. halfbred ewes 9s aged ewes fair months 6s, fat ewes 9s to 9s 6d, lambs in wool mixed fair 7a 4d, fair shorn lambs 5s to 6s 7d, small lambs 3s 5d to 4s 4d, good mixed shorn lambs 7s 6d, fair ewes lambs 7s 3d. Oatcle, cows and calves £3 2s, mixed weaners 20s, empty cows small £2, 20 months steers £3 Is.
