A GIRL ASSAULTED.
Per Press Association. Auckland, February 25. A girl 13 years of age was attacked by a man at Warkworth and assaulted so seriously that she bad to be removed to Auckland Hospital, The girl’s cries drew the attention of a young man named Oakes who rushed to her assistance. The assailant is alleged to ‘have threatened Oakes with a knife. When Oakes rushed a* him he bolted and got clear away. This is the third known outrage committed! n the Rodney district it a short period, and parents of children are becoming anxious. In connection with the assault od a girl at Warkworth, which is de; a cruel outrage, the police arrested*a man named William J. Moore and charged him with the offence. Moore appears at the Court here to-morrow.
