STUDENTS' CONFERENCE.

IMPORTANT ADDRESSES

As the Conference at Marton progresses it is satisfactory and pleasing to notice that every speaker has dealt worthily with the subject given him. Every address has been characterised by thought, reading and preparation, the result being that the students and the general public have been greatly benefited by the visit of the speakers. The topics have all been of the greatest theoretical and practical value for the religions life. Subjects such as the origin and nature of the Bible, Sabbath observance, the Atonement in history and experience, the indwelling Christ and the spirit that should characterise religion to-day, were treated ably by representative ministers from all parts of the North Island. One of the great values of snob a conference is that students of all denominations listen to addresses from speakers of all demoninafcicua, and thus must make very materially for the future union of the churches. In such conferences (as these, there are present the men and women who will undoubtedly be the leaders of the churches, and as they go to their futrue work they carry with them the tolerance and sympathy gained at the conferences.
