Daring a strike *of 13,000 button makers at Meru (France), demanding & nniform ■wage, 600 of the strikers attacked and wrecked two factories and stormed the manuatoturers’ •dwellinghonse. The owner, his wife and servants fled in their nightdresses by the back door. Next morning 200 Dragoons bad serious conflicts with the strikers, .several of the troops being woupded. A thousand Cavalry have been sent to Mem.
