Received April 8, 8.10 a.m., Loudon, April 7. , The firm of Sir John Jackson, Ltd., has secured a contract for the AricaLa Paz Railway across the Andes, costing three million sterling. The railway crosses the Andes at an altitude of 13,000 feet. Sir J. Jackson expects to finish the line in four years. A German firm backed hy the Dentsoh Bank competed for the contract, but the English tender was four per cent, lower.
