ADDINGTON MARKETS. Per Press Association. March 10. At Addington yards t6-day there were large entries of stock and a good attendance. Prices generally showed a decline, beef being lower on account of a very large yarding. Store sheep were easier all round by about Is per head, and fat lambs showed a reduction of fully 6d per head. Fat sheep showed a reduction of 6d to Is per head. Fat lambs: Thera were about 5000 taken for export at 11s to 14s 6d, 500 by butchers at 13s 3d to 15s, and 100 were passed in, mostly to go to the factory on owners’ account. Fat sheep : Prime wethers 14s 6dto 16s 9d, extra to 17s sd, lighter 12s 9d to 14s, prime ewes 11s 6d to 12s9d, others 6s to 11s, merino wethers 24s 4d. Fat cattle : Steers made £5 7s 6d to £lO 17s 6d, heifers £4 15s to £8 12s 6d s and cows £4 to £7 7s 6d, equal to 21s 6d to 22s 6d, medium 18s 6d to 21e, and cow and inferior 16s 6d to 18s per lOOlbs. Store cattle : The lots were passed. A line of 50 3 and 4 year steers was sold privately at £7. Dairy cows were in brisk demand, prices, ranging from £3 10s to £lO ss.

Pigs : Choppers made £3 15s, large haconers 60s to 655, and lighter 48a to 555, equal to 4*£d per lb. Large porkers 42s to 48s, smaller 33s to 40a, equal to per lb, large stores 38a to 40s, medium 37s to 335, and weaners 14s 6d to 31s. STOCK REPORT. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report :—At our Raumai sale on 9th inst. we had a good entry of sheep, but small entry of cattle. Owing to the continued dry weather sheep were dull of sale. Cattle fully maintained late market . rates We quitted the bulk of the yarding at following ’prices:—Sheep: Small lambs 4s. 3, 4 and 6-tooth ewes small 5s 6d to 8s 3d, sound-mouth breeding ewes Bs, Lincoln rams 1 guinea. Cattle: Cows and calves £3 16s, store cows 31s, fat cows £1 Bs, 18months heifers 27s 6d. At our Hunterville sale on Tuesday, the 9th inst., we had a large yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle. The demand for sheep was not very keen, but all cattle were sold at auction. We quote : Aged ewes 2s 6d to 3s lOd, mixed age ewes ss, 6s 3d to’ 6s 7d ; cull lambs to 3s. store |!cows 20s, heifers in calf 355, fat and forward cows £3 18s 6d, fat cows £3 7s.
