Twenty-five German deserters from" the French Foreign Legion were sentenced to terms ranging from two to twenty years’ penal servitude. Received March 11, 8 a.m. London, March 10, The Free Church Council passed a resolutionjin favour of the carrying of Welsh disestablishment this session, and affirmed the necessity of free churches continually engaging in politics. Dr. Clifford’s resolution, attributing the failure of the educational Concordat to the exorbitant demands of the Anglican leaders and condemning the contracting out clause, was carried. Only 60 members favoured secular education. London, March 11.
The Tribunal at Mobeka, Congo Free State, has sentenced Lieutenant Arnold to 21 years penal servitude in Connection with the murders, incendiarism and robbery in the Mongalle territory.
