Twenty-five German deserters from" the French Foreign Legion were sentenced to terms ranging from two to twenty years’ penal servitude. Dr. Clifford’s resolution, attributing the failure of the educational Concordat to the exorbitant demands of the Anglican leaders and condemning the contracting out clause, was carried. The Tribunal at Mobeka, Congo Free State, has sentenced Lieutenant Arnold to 21 years penal servitude in Connection with the murders, incendiarism and robbery in the Mongalle territory.
