DETAILS OF INSURANCES. Per Press Association. Taihape, March 2. No farther buildings were destroyed hut several premises on the opposite side were soorqhed and the windows broken. The scock was slightly damaged by water but all were small amounts. But for the absolutely calm night the whole town might have been destroyed. A large quantity of goods was salvaged, but the loss over the insurances is very heavy. There was never any danger to the buildings on the opposite side of the street. The total damage is estimated at about £25,000. The corrected insurances are.;— Whaler Bros., £250 in the Australian Alliance; McPherson, *£2so in the Sun; Niohol, £3OO in the British; Garner, £2OO in the Commercial Union; Whitcombs, £l5O in ttie Commercial Union; Fiuoh, £IOO in the Sun, and personal effects £SO in the New Zealand ; Hodgson, £3OO in the Norwich Union; Aldridge, £SO in the Sun; Jones, £250 in the Sun; Miss Fraser’s tea rooms, £4O in the New Zealand; Wang Yon, £2OO in the Sun; Ellis and 'Darvill, unknown, probably Alliance and Queensland, but the stock was valued at £10,000; Labour Department, uninsured as far as can he ascertained ; W. R. Emerson, solicitor. £SO in the New Zealand. Insurances to the buildings are:— Ellis and Darvill. in the Alliance for £860; Mrs J. D. Barsby on Whaler’s, Niohol’s, and McPherson, £450 in the Sun; on Wang You’s, £100; W. P. Garner, £IOO in the Commercial Union; E. Jones, £IOO in the Sun; B. Hedges on Finch’s), £6OO in the New Zeaalud; F. H. Gibbons (on Garner’s), £IOO in the Commercial Union.
