Per Press Association, Auckalud, November 7. A young man named R. Mooney, a passenger from Napier, by the Tallinn, died just before arrival at Auckland, biong in an advanced stage of consumption. Nelson, November 8. ■< A man named Aitkin, a miner of Oollingwood, was found drowned m St. Vincent street gutter this morning, lying face downwards With ms hands in his pockets. In the vicinity wore blood stains. The _ police aio investigating. No details are yet available as to whether it was suicide, accident, or foul play, iho curious circumstances of his hands being in his pockets is arousing suspicion. . Timaru, November b. An inquest was hold last evening at Waimato l on tho body of tho young man Percy Beard, Who was picked up unconscious in tho riverbed at Waihao on Wednesday morning and died a few hours later. Evidence showed that deceased had been thrown from a young horse ho was riding and the base of ids skull fractured by a kick or the fall. -n. verdict of accidental death was returned.
