Eaces Nos. 1 and 5 open to all horses. A Double Totalizator will bo conducted on the Hack Steeplechase and Marton Handicap, PENALTY. The winner of any raco after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 71bs. NOMINATIONS, WEIGHTS, ACCEPTANCES & GENEEAL ENTEIES. Nominations will close at the Secretary’s Office, Marton, on EEIDAY, 16th August, at; 7 p.m. Weights will be declared on or about the 21st August in the Eangitikex AdYOCATE. Acceptances and General Entries on TUESDAY, 27th August, at 8.30 p.m. Weights for Second Day’s Eaces will be declared on WEDNESDAY, 4th September, at 8 o’clock, at the office of the Secretary, Marton. Acceptances the same evening at 9 o’clock at the same place.

RULES. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Racing. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary Marten Jockey Club, Marton, and entrance money to bo enclosed with name of horse, age at time of entry, name of owner and trainer, pedigree, and colours of riders. All nominations by wire must bo confirmed by letter by first mail afterwards. A hunter means a horse whose owner can produce at scales a certificate from the Master of any Hunt that the horse has been ridden to hounds during lha past season to the satis faction of the Master, and has neither won nor is nominated at the date of entry for a race of .£40 —Hack and Hunter races excepted. Bookmakers, their clerks, agents or assistants, will not be allowed on the grounds of the Marten Jockey Club. ARTHUR WAY, Secretary.
