SHOT BY A PEA RIFLE.

Per Press Association. Invebcabgill, July 14. David Strang Campbell, aged 20 years, son of Mr A. B. Campbell, a well-known commercial man, went to clean a pea rifle on Saturday afternoon. Other members of the family heard a shot and found young Campbell dead, being shot in the head. It is supposed that the rifle was left loaded unknown to deceased, and that it exploded when being lifted from a corner. At the inquest this afternoon a verdict of accidental death was returned.
