SHEEP RETURNS.
The interim return of sheep in the colony on April 30th, 1907, presented to Parliament shows : Increase. Auckland 765,896 133,989 Napier-Gisborno 5,013,366 155,626 Wellington and West Coast 4,933,518 * 413,444 Marlborough and Nelson 1,117,866 69,399 Canterbury and Kaikoura 5,136,400 135,493 Otago 8,895,763 71,483
Totals 30,816,799 708,328 The increase in the North Island was 703,039, and the increase in the South Island 5389, the total increase being 708,328. The Canterbury-Kai-koura district figures show a decrease of 135,493.
