There was an official welcome of the Now Zealand footballers to-day. They were accorded a hearty reception. Tho Town Hall was crowded.
Mr Wade, Attorney-General, presiding, extended on behalf of Government a heartv welcome to tho visitors.
Mr Wylie, manager of the team, in reply gave the assurance that not one of tbe team would join tho professional tour to Britain.
This statement evoked great enthusiasm, Sydney, July 11.
The following is tho local team to moot tho “Allßlacks” to-morrow; — Back, Dix; three-quarters. Messenger, Smith, Russell and Waddell; halves,' Mandible and Wood.; forwards, Rosowoll, Griffin, Barnett, McOne, Burgo, Row, Hughes and Mnrniu.
The arrival of tho team yesterday marked tho anniversary of the departure of tho first Now South Wales team to New Zealand 25 years ago. Tho Herald, in a leaderette devoted to the “All Blacks,” says that tho interest of healthy sport'will receive strong stimulus and encouragement by tho visit of tho Now Zealand footballers and the local feeling, amounting almost to enthusiasm, which it has excited.
