ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

An old man named Charles Coombridgo was injured to-day by a tram car. He was driving a trap and was struck by the car from Hew Brighton. Ooombridgo is very deaf and near sighted and did not see or hear the car, and drove straight on to the lino, the car smashing into the trap at a right angle. The horse was killed and the trap badly smashed, and . the • car also suffered. Coombridge was taken to the hospital, where his injuries were found to be nob severe,'but his escape from instant death was a miraculous one. Auckland, July 11.
Constable McGovern, stationed at Pukekobe, baa reported by telegraph to Inspector Cullen that William Gill an Begbie, agod 23, who had been missing since tbe 7th inst., was found dead in the bush at Pukokoho East this morning with a revolver lying alongside him. It is supposed to be a case of suicide.
