At Newmarket sales Sol Green, of Meblonruo, bought Tragedy Queen with a colt foal by Persimmon and in foal toOrvieto for 1700 guineas; River Trent with a colt foal by Isinglass and in foal to Bill of Portland for 470 guineas; Alexandra for S3O guineas; also the mares Spezzia with filly, Childwick Bello and Seashore with filly. All will be shipped to Melbourne on August Ist. Rangitikei Racing ClubTho programme for Rangitikei Racing Club’s Spring Meeting is published to-day. The open events on tho first day are *the Plying Handicap of £7O, Rangitikei Steeplechase of £l5O, and tho Spring Handicap of £llO, and the hack races are Willowbank Steeplechase of £7O, Pukehon hurdles of £6O, Raugitoto Mat of £6O, and the Maiden Flat of £SO. There arc two cross-country events on the second day—Clifton Steeples (open) of £l2O and the Ngatiapa Hack Steeples of £6O. Tho other races which make up an attractive programme are Ngaio Hack Hurdles of £OO, Telegraph' Handicap (open) of £9O, Killeymoon Hack of £6O, September Handicap (open) of £llO, and a Welter Hack Race of £6O. Tho meeting will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 18th and 10th, and nominations close for all events with the secretary (Mr H. A. Goodall) at Bulls on Saturday, August 24th at 9 o’clock.
