Shortly after scjvcn last {light a niglj watchman named Little had his attention drawn to sounds of struggling in the water and aiw same black object, but it disappeared. Little further along hp found a bat agd telephoned for the police, and theip search found blood stains on the barque Constance Craig lying at the wharf. A search was made in the river and a body found about an hour later. The body was identified as that of John Bait. At the inquest a verdict was returned of found drowned,
