ARREST OF McINTYRE.

Press Association, Wellington, July 8. The New Zealand Police Department denies that there was any bungling on Us part in connection with the arrest of D. O. Mclntyre at Monte Video. A full description of Mclntryo was cabled and the message also stated that accused was travelling steerage under the assumed name of “Mack” and “is known to passenger Charles Wil;} cox.” Mutilation of the message may have given the Monte Video police a wrong impression with, the result that they imagined that Wilcox, manager of the Loan and Mercantile staff at Christchurch, was the person wanted.
