MANAWATU DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present: Trustees Sanson (chairman), Belf,| Voss, and O. Loughlin. Mr T. Fraser wrote in reference to drainage work, and applying for payment on account of work done. The Board decided to refer him to Mr Lloyd, to whom the contract had been originally let.
The Engineer reported that he had taken levels as instructed in reference to Mr Larsen’s drain in the LongbumEongotea drain. A pipe drain was recommended in preference to an open one. The information was ordered to be supplied to Mr Larsen. Some discussion took place regarding damage done to drains by artesian wells being left continually running, and it was decided to take action , against one offender.
Regarding blocks in drains the Chairman said that they should investigate the cause, and if it was through flood gates the owners should be asked to take them out. The suggestion was put in the form of a motion and carried.
Accounts amounting to £262 10s 5d were passed for payment.
