O’NEILL’S BUCKJUMPERS.
Described as new, novel and interesting, and a show to please young and old, O’Neill’s Buckjumpers appear in Martou to-morrow evoniug, and performances in keeping with the high standard achieved by them in Christchurch and Wellington are promised. Speaking of a Wellington performance, tho New Zealand Times said :—‘ ‘ Again last night tho O’Neill Buckjnmpors were, greeted with great enthusiasm, and despite tiro inclement weather the tent was dry, brilliantly lighted, and warm. One pound was offered any rider in the audience to sit one of the buckjumpors, but though several tried none succeeded. Miss Burton, tho clover New Zealand horsewoman, i’ullilled her undertaking to ride an unbroken buckjnmpor, and brought a very vicious animal to a standstill. It was a strenuous task for a woman, and her stood was a particularly active one, rocking and jerking her lythc body backwards and forwards like tho lash of.a whip. She left the ring a great heroine. The efforts of two men to ride a small pony together wore quite hopeless, but very amusing; but the greatest fun of all was tho ‘Fun in the Stockyard act, * which eclipses anything of the kind over seen here. It must be soon to be appreciated.”
