MARINE INQUIRY.

Per Press Association. Wellington, Juno 19,

An inquiry was held to-day concerning the stranding of the steamer Huia on Long Point, Kapiti Island, while on a, frip from Wangauui to Wellington. -The Court found that Captain Dowell did not take sufficient precautionary measures to ascertain his position when approaching Kapiti. The Court took into consideration his excellent record during the thirty years ho had held a master's certificate, but thought that he should be censured for his want of care on this occasion, and be ordered to pay the costs of the inquiry,
