The rains partially relieved the drought in South-Eastern Europe Cargoes are quiet at 33s Od for Victorian off coast, 3Gs 3d being asked for a June-July ship nient,-and 35s 9d for an April-May shipment. Australian spot is held for 35s Gd to 365. Flour is in good demand, Australian being practically cleared. Butter is very slow and practically nothing is doing. The prices of Australian are numerically unchanged. At Bradford wool is firm and quiet and prices are unchanged. High Commissioner's Report. Press Association. Wkllixoton, June 10. The Departmentt of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner, dated June Bth: The upward movement in the mutton market seems arrested, only small stocks of Canterbury are on haud and there is no change in price to report. The lamb market is steady and good demand continues. Prices are firm and unchanged. The beef market remains firm and supplies are decreasing. Hindquarters 4d, fore-quarters 3^d. The, butter market is steady and there is good demand for choicest brands. Choicest New Zealand 90s per cwt. The cheese market is quiet and prices slightly weaker; white manufacture GGs, coloured 645. The hemp market is quiet and only small business doing. There is only a small quantity of good fair grade* on hand, but no change in price to report since last week. Cocksfoot seed market is quiet -with small business doing. Feilding Market Report. Messrs A. H. Atkinson and Co. report:—A fair entry of pigs came forward on Friday, but competition was dull and prices easier. A large entry of fowls came to hand and sold at late rates. Produce came to hand in large quantities and met with no great demand this week. Quotations :—Horses: Aged pony £l. Pigs: Weaners 4s Cd to Bs, slijis 8s 6d, stores 10s, porkers Its to 255, sows 40s to 495. Poultry: Cockerels Is to 2s 9d, hens 9d to Is Bd, ducks &s, all at each. Produce: Potatoes 10s, pig potatoes 2s per sack, prime onions Id per lb, inferior }£d, marrows 3s per sack, horse carrots 3s per sack, pumpkins %d per lb, barley 2s 10d per bushel. Factory bacon: Sides 7>£d, hams 7%d; Jiome cured s>£d to 7%d. Stock Market.
Messrs Dalgety and 00., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale of the 11th instant as follows:—We had a fair yarding of sheep, most of which were sold by auction and the balance after the sale. Fat and forward wethers realised lS.s 3d, forward wethers 17s Id, mixed ewos and wethers los 2d, medium lambs 10s od to 10s** Od, empty fi rward ewes 10s 2d, empty ewes i)s, ; ;?od ewes 5s Cd, A small yarding of cattle met a fairly good sale.
