SAD FATALITY AT KAIRANGA.

A young man named Paul Erhoru, of Rongotea, who was engaged wood cutting in the Kairanga, was awakened at an early hour this morning by the roof of his hut collapsing through » fire in the building. The: poor fellow was horribly, burnt and bruised, but succeeded in getting clear of the flames. He afterwards crawled to the house of the nearest neighbour, where he succumbed to Ids injuries half an hour after his arrival. The unfortunate victim was the son of one of the oldest families in the Kongo! ca district, with whom the greatest sympathy will be felt in their sudden bereavement. An inquest will bo hold at Kai-rauga'to-day. The” funeral of the deceased will take place 10-morrow at Rongotea cemetery.
