SANDON OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION.

Annual Meeting. The sapper rcotn of the Sandon Hall was well filled on Saturday evening with members of the above Association. Mr N. J. Phillips presided. The annual report congratulated the members on the success that had attended the last year’s work. During the year a movement had been inaugurated to erect a memorial tablet in memory of departed teachers and scholars. The object had received hearty support from old scholars from all parts of the colony, and the stone had been erected ia fire of the school rooms. The thanks of the Association are due to the ladies of the district, through whose assistance the last social was brought to so successful an issue. The incoming committee were recommended to devise some means to si nplify the work at the next social whereby their lady friends would be relieved of a largo portion of tbe work that they had voluntarily undertaken in the past. The balance sheet showed a deficiency of 14s ; this result was considered very satisfactory in view of extra expeuse the Association had been under during the past year.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr H. Bowater for the very live interest that he had displayed in carrj ing out the duties of secretary and treasurer since the formation of the Association. The following officers wore re-elected fos the ensuing year:—President, Mr G. Williams; vice-presidents, Messrs P. J. Phillips and F. Grace. A strong committee was appointed to carry out the detail? for this year’s gathering. It was decided to hold the annual social during Juno and the Secretary was requested to procure and issue the invitation cards at an early date.
