A gentleman who is described as a keen judge, whoso business interests bring him into close contact with the farming com munity, and who has recently travelled over the greater part of the colony, said to a News reporter to-day that at present ruling land prices Southland offers the best value in New Zealand for settlers. The past fortnight is said to have been a record in the district for sales of. stock. One firm sold 25,000 sheep during that period.
