ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Christchurch, April 13. Amelia Bispham, a resident of Nelson, attempted to leave a moving train on tin Lyttelton wharf this morning. She fell between the carriages and was crushed and died almost immediately. Her body was shockingly mangled the chest being crushed in and the loft log completely severed. The jury returned a verdict of accidental death. There was no evidence to show how -thQ woman got under' the train. Gisboene, April 15. An elderly native named Hcnare Huia was run over by the railway train on Saturday night at the north end of Kaiteratahi tunnel. Deceased boarded the train at Tekaraka in a muddled condition and having no ticket was put off by the guard at Waipaoa station, the train was returning from town late ip the evening a bump was felt at the tuu ; uel aud the man was subsequently found on the line severely injured. He died yesterday morning. i
