OTAHUHU.

An enjoyable function took place recently in connection with the Loyal Franklin Lodge in the Masonic Hall for the purpose of celebrating the 37th anniversary of the Lodge. Bro. H. Wills occupied the chair and he had seated near him representatives of the Management Committee from the city. Various toasts were honoured and musical items were rendered. A striking feature of the evening was the effectively ananged tables; for this the thanks of the Committee are due to the la lies who carried out that work.

The Bishop of Auckland is to conduct a special service in Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, on Sunday, October I3th, at 7 p m. to inaugurate the new Diocesan Central Fund. The date was previously published in error as October sth.

An old identity of Otahuhu in the person of Mrs M. Brady passed away last Monday at her residence, Princess Street. The deceased lady who was the widow of the late Mr James Brady had suffered for some considerable time. She is survived by a family of seven, one of whom, Mr John Brady, is a member of the Borough Council.
