DEATH (>!■' MR. W'M. CRAY.
A -<il li-i of more than 50 years' standing died at. Mangere last Thursday in the person of Mr. William (tray, who bad lived lo tic age of 88. Mr. Gray, win- was a native' of County Mown. Ireland, came to New Zealand about tlie year |sf>4 in the ship Columbus, which on a subsequent voyage was lost with all hands. For the lirst year or two of his colonial life Mr. Cray carried on a farm at, Pukekohe. Then In; moved to another farm at Papatoetoo, and about 25 years ago he retired from active amicultural work, settling down upon a property on tic Mnngore-Ofahuhu Road. Mr. dray is* survived by Mrs. Gray, live -i,h<, and four daughters. Four of his, sons are farming in the Waikato, and another is Air. Isaac G. Gray, of Papatoefoe, who was president of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association in the years 1010 and 1011
