PIGEON SHOOTING.

The Sport at Puni. The Puni branch of the Pukekohe Rod and Gun Club held a very successful shoot on Mr J. Blake's farm on Saturday, December 20th. Mr H. Stewart was referee. Mr J. Wrignt's trophy, a handsome breakfast cruet, was shot for and was won by Bert Hart with eight out of ten buds of the 11 yards mark. Wright was second with seven birds off 16 yards. The remaining competitors did not do to well. Those competing were: Wilson, Vujucich, Mouidey, Blake, Johns, Fausett (2), H. Reynolds, McNally, Daysb, Gardner, Len Koose. Five and six birds were about the average. The first sweepstakes, six birds, was tied for by J. Wright and J. Blake with five out of six, who divided first and second money. E. Fausett was third with four firstbarrel birds. Johns and Wilson tied in the second sweepstakes, three birds, with the possible; in the choot-off Johns won. Fausett and Roose tied for third place, Fausett winning with the fourth lird. A great deal of interest is being taken in the branch matches, and members of the club are joining in enthusiastically.
