j The Arawa ('ricket Club paid their ■ annual visit to Mauku oil (_ hristuias | Dav, and met and defeated the local 1 team by -I!* runs on the fust innings. In their tiist innings Aiawa madn ! 125 (Baker-13, Stuiuton 23, Punch ' 21, McLachlan 10). Mauku made 76 (Ploydeil 13, E. C. Cuff M, W. one wicket. McLauchlin, Punch and Slomun were the most successful bowlers for Arawa, and Kemp, : K, llaeuta a:id Pleydell for Mauku. j On Hosing Day Arawa [Jnved I Waiuku, winning by 162 runs on • the tiist innings. Arawa made 215 i (Slowman 67, Baker 2!>, l'l-ydell 2N, j Collins 23, Punch 21V Waiuku made 61 (Dr Ilowden 23, Aldred 16, j Cromwell 11) and 85 for thive j wickets (Dr Ilowden 61). Harris secured most wickets for W aiuku aiul Baker for Arawa. A plea-ant feature of the visit of tho Arawa team to Mauku was the presenting of a handsome pocketbook to Mr T. A. Kemp from members of the Arawa CluK. Mr Stainton, in making tho presentation, spoke of the uniform courtesy his club had received from Mr Kemp on thoir many visits to this district, and it was the unanimous desire to present him with some small token now he was leaving the district as a small . memento from the Arawa Cricket Club. Mr Kemp, in accepting the useful present, said if evw ho had u surprise sprung ou him ho had one this time. 110 would look hick with pleasure to the sport-manlike treatment, he had always received from the Arawa Club, an 1 the many interesting matches played.
