I wish to say that it is not only Pukekohe growers that offfni in this matter A resident here bought a nundridweight of Southern potatoei a we.k or so ago and fcur.d he had raid for 291 Is of dirt as well As potatoes win; about 12s perewt. he considered this rather an expsi sive ma.ner of buying land, so L-ok it back to the local storekeeper and was rllowe: potatoes in lieu of same. Would rot this come under "selling food unfit for human consumption?" Of course, the local storekeeper is not to blame.—l am, etc., MEVILL CRISPE. Msuku, December 13th
