RAMA RAMA FLOWER SHOW.
Very Successful Display. Eight Hundred Exhibits. The second annual Flower Show was held in the Hall, Rama Rama, on Friday, November 22nd, when close on 800 exhibits were shown, being an increase of over 150 from last year. In all sections a splendid display was exhibited, and some keen competition resulted, the sweet peas being particularly fine. In the ccokery and butter section some excellent work was seen, the former being considerably in advance of anything ssen at the Pukekohe Show, both in quality and quantity. Brakes were run from Drury, and visitors from all the surrounding districts were present in large numbers, the scene in the evening being particularly brilliant. The secretary, Mr H. Pilkiogton. can well be proud of the show, and is to be congratulated on the successful manner everything was organised. Special credit is due to Mrs W. J. D. Sharp for her untiring assistance, and to Mrs Sharp and Mrs Pilkington tor their attention to the luncheon booth.
Special prizes were given by Mesdames M Ballard, Perry, Harrison and Oldham, Miss Rugg, Messrs F. Cornthwaite, J. Brooks, Msclaurin, Ingram, Sharp, Stewart, McKenzie, Laidlaw-Leeds, T. Turley, Yates and Co., O'Leary Bros, and Downs, Pilkington and Co., G. Stevenson, F. Ballard, Pulman, R. McCowan, J. Pilkington, K. Gollan, Hill and Plummer.
A very creditable piece of work was a quilt made by Mrs Fox, whose age is over 83, it being work that very few young people would tackle. The president, Mr W. Sharp, was naturally delighted with the success of the function. - The Prize List. FLOWERS. Judge, Mr E. Allan; stewards, Mr F. Ballard and Miss Batty. Flowering plant in pot—G. Pulman
