SPORTS AND PASTIMES.
LAWN TENNIS Now that tha courts have been formally opened, local players are beginning ti put in plenty of practice, and will soon be striking form. It must have been pleasant to the Managemerft Commiltee to see so many players from Huntly at their opening on Saturday As the outcome of the visit, it is probable that the matches between the two Clubs, which have been dropped of late, will he renewed. In fact, Huntly Ranted to visit Pukekohe on Saturday, but the local Club thought it was too early ia the season for a match. The i laying strength of the Club should be equal to last year. Vangioni has left, but Hopkins, a reoent arrival, will take his place. There is a probability of "Dick" Johns—who, by the way showed at the opening that he tad not lost his form—again taking up his residence here, so that his se'rvices will be again available.
