SUBURBAN TRAINS.
♦ PROPOSED SUNDAY SERVICE To Drury and Pukekohe. A suggestion came before the Pukekohe Borough Council at its last meeting that the suburban train area should be extended. The letter was from Jos. EL Brooks, Secretary of the Drury Progressive League, and read : " At a meeting of the Drury Progressive League, it was decided, on the motion of Mr J. fTtnagan, sucoii.lt d by Mr McCall\nn, that a delegation be ! formed to wait on Mr Ball, traffic | manager, to press the claim of districts 1 outside the subut ban area having the benefit of the concessii n of suburban fares; also to ask for the Sunday trains to run to Drury, or if possible to Pukekohe. Further, that the secretary write to the Pukekohe Borougli Council to ask their support., in the matter by also forming a delegation to work in conduction with the Drury Progressive League delegatiojafc. A reply in the affirmative woßpbe heartily received by the a time and date oi the proposed uetegation could be suit ibly a rang, d." j Crs Lawiie and Couirie were ap- \ poiuted to meet and act with the Diury ! delegates. The Mayor oxplaihed to last week's meeting of the Borough Council that he had got certain information in regard to the money market, and he had instructed tho Clerk to write to the Advances office asking for the extra 10 per cent contingency money available on the last loan. If they got that ho said it would help them in some small degree. The Mayor's action was confirmed.
