HARRISVILLE.

A pleasing function took place at the breaking up of the public sehool liero on Friday, when advantage was taken of the retirement of Miss K. Wilcox, who is about to be married, to show the good feeling of both parents and scholars. At 2.30 a number of parents of the pupils and the chairman of the school committoemet at the school, when Miss Wilcox was addressed by Master G. Bycroft, and presented by Miss Isla Seaman, on behalf of the pupils, with a silver teapot, neatly engraved, and a silver toastrainer. Mr Wilcox replied on bcv half of his daughter. Genoral wishes were expressed for a happy future for their friend and teacher. Amongst the appointments of teachers at the last meeting of the Board of Education was Miss R. I. Matthew*, reliving teacher at Harrisville. It was decided to consult the committee regarding the appointment of Miss M. R. Scott.
