SCHOOL CONCERT.

A GREAT SUCCESS. The Concert in the Masonic Hall on Monday night was a great success, both artistically and financially. Over £2l was raised towards the improvement funds of the school grounds— a record in money rising effort. The hall was simply packed and late-comers had tube turned away. " Piod Piper" (19 upper form pupils), " Rainbow" I'H primary class pupils), ' Topsey Turvey " <2U junior scholar.-), and 'The Little Hero" (36 senior scholars) were a'l successful numbers for which both criildren and teachers deserve praise. Songs were rendered by Mr A. Young ("For All Eternity" and "The Gladiator "I. Mr Gilrov ("Border Ballad ' and " 'Tis the Day "). Mrs Jno. Pilkington ("Always" and "Kathleen Mavourneen"), Miss Smith ("Invitation" and "Mandy's Wedding"*, Mr D. R. Flavell ("Sally in our Alley") and Mr R. Steven-, ("When the Ebb Tide Flows"— encored). Master ii. and £. Stevens played pianoforte ducts, while the quartette "Sweet and Low" (by Mesd imes Blamires and Pilkington, Messrs J. Roulston and A. Young) went very well indeed. Miss Penman was the accompanist. The Town Band played selections preceding the concert. MrC. K. Lawri.\ Chairman of the School Committee, who presided appropriately thanked all those who had worked so hard, and so willingly, tu make the Concert such a great success.
