Papabata Road Board. The monthly meeting of the rata Town Board was held in the I Bombay H ill on Saturday, June Ist, ! the Chairm in (Mr Thomas) presiding. Four ten lers were received for the/ : office of C lerk, Treasurer, and rate ! collector, vi 5., James Baxter £IOO per year, W. H. Blakeway £lB5, G. Clarke £25 and F. Wootten £7 10a and 5 per c rat on rates collected. The || last-mentio led was accepted. MrCaie 1 (whom Mi Wootten succeeds) occu- J pied the clt rkship of the Board for a quarter of 1 , century. Accounts] amounting to £9B 3s Id were passed for payment. The question of a new bridge near. H the.Bombajr Creamery (for which ten- I ders had bien received at the previous (| meeting) was further deferred, and it l| was decided to call a meeting of rate- i payers to discuss this and other mat- 4k ters. I \^ A proposal was carried giving notice I that it was the intention of the Board I at the next| regular meeting to a general rkte of one penny in rhew£,. and a special rate of one farthing in the £, on the rateable value of all the property in; the district.
