Baling twine is now available in ample supply to meet all needs for the current haymaking season. The Minister of Industries and Commerce has notified Federated Farmers that because of the increased supplies of phormium, in hand and in sight, there will be no shortage of lines such as one-ply treated baler twine for the season. Farmers have been asked to place their orders immediately. It is also anticipated that a large tonnage of two-ply treated baler twine for use in wire balers will be available in the South Island. While one-ply twine is reported to give satisfaction for light crops, the two-ply twine is specially for use with the bulkier crops such as wheat straw.
