The New Zealand Counties’ Association had met representatives of the Government, and obtained approval fo,r recommendations designed to reduce the incidence of hydatids, it was reported to the annual conference of the association. The Health Department had agreed to undertake further propaganda work, and an educational campaign had been carried out through farmers' organisations. The Department of Agriculture had agreed to approach freezing companies suggesting the payment of a bonus when the incidence of hydatids in livers dropped below 40 per cent.
