TREATMENT OF MILK SUPPLY
QUESTION OF CONTROL Auckland Farmers’ Views The Auckland province of Federated Farmers was supporting the Ambury town milk group in its fight to retain control of treatment, said the Auckland provincial secretary of the federation, Mr. G. M. Rodger, in a statement. A resolution to that effect had been forwarded to Wellington, requesting the support of the Dominion council. Mr. Rodger said that during the past two or three weeks there had been considerable agitation resulting in special branch meetings because of the Government’s desire to take over control. Supporting remits had come from many areas in the Auckland province, which were not themselves interested in town milk supply, but were very strongly in support of principles involved. The attitude of tho federation was very distinctly not a partisan one, but members saw in this development a threatening menace of interference in all types of producer control. Clearly, therefore," it seemed that the Federated Farmers must pledge their support in an issue in which so much could he at stake for all phases of primary production.
