Consequent upon satisfactory settlement of the terms of (lie agreement with the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council, the I-lauraki Catchment Board was now In a position io finance its immediate operations, reported the acting-clerk, Mr. F. I. Clarke, at last meeting of the board. Application had been made to the Public Works Department, Auckland, for £2OOO of the £BOOO administrative loan, and the recently-appointed clerk. Mr. C. M. Walsh, had been advised that the position was now clear. Mr. Walsh would take up his duties oil July 14, said Mr. Clarke.
