The Minister of Agriculture stated that the raising of the topdi-e-ssing’ allocation !by one-third for the 19-47-48 season was now possible. The total amount of phosphate fertiliser now on hand was 748,000 tons, a great;*!- amount than New Zealand had ever had used before, but it was still insufficient to meat the demands. The Minister said the fertiliser ration had been raised to three hundredweight per acre in the North Island and two hundrrdSyeight in the South Island.
