ARAPUNI NEWS

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The monthly meeting of the Arapuni Women’s Institute was held recently hi the Workers’ Hall. There was l a good attendance of members and visitors. During the afternoon an interesting demonstration on lace-making was . given by Mrs. Stewart, -of the Putaruru institute, and was much appreciated by everyone. Competition results' were as follows: Competition in. room, Mrs Brookes 1; best bloom, Mrs Salt 1, Mrs Judd 2; best vegetable, Mrs Brooker 1, Mrs Williams* 2; sand saucer, Mrs Sewell 1. Another competition was won by Mrs Inskeep. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Judd and Salt.
