The feat of scoring 100 points in a Rugby season is rarely accomplished by a school boy. However, this honour was recently achieved by a Morrinsville lad, Alex Paterson, who, as second live-eighth for the Hamilton High School, took his tally to the century mark when bis team defeated Rotorua High School by 40 points to three. Paterson, who as a member of the Terriers junior team and a Morrinsvilie junior representative last year, is the possessor of a powerful and accurate boot. He has scored no fewer than 58 points in outside school games, securing the remainder in club competition matches. Earlier in the season Paterson, who went to Hamilton from the Morrinsville District High School, figured as centre threerjuarter, and it was in that position that he created a good impression when Hamilton High School inflicted a substantial defeat on Mount Albert Grammar School on King’s Birthday. He distinguished himself by scoring eight points in the first five minutes of play. During the latter stages of the season Paterson has been playing at, second five-eighth.
